Perry Buckner grew up in Walterboro, SC—just fifty miles south of Charleston. He then attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC for his undergrad degree, graduating magna cum laude before earning a law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law in Columbia.

Perry has practiced law in Charleston his entire legal career. Prior to joining Yarborough Applegate, Perry was a partner at one of Charleston’s largest law firms, which set the stage for his sole focus on litigation, handling matters at every level of South Carolina’s court system with an emphasis on civil trial work.

Perry joined the Yarborough Applegate team in 2019 and his background includes handling cases involving wrongful death, personal injury, medical negligence, nursing home negligence, professional liability, civil rights violations, commercial litigation, and consumer class actions.

Perry’s client work and relationships span nearly every county in South Carolina. Having worked as a defense lawyer for nearly a decade on behalf of insurance companies, he understands how to prepare a case for trial and increase the value of his client’s case.

Perry is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar, and frequently presents to his colleagues on matters including civil trials, civil procedure, and professional liability.
