Our Reputation

Don’t just take our word for it. Hear directly from those we’ve helped: our clients and co-counsel.

If you want hard work, perseverance, respect, and confidence in attorneys who will fight a battle on your behalf, Yarborough Applegate is the firm for you. We live in Delaware and while on vacation in South Carolina, my husband suffered a serious injury that changed our lives. His leg would never work, feel, or look the same again. We had no idea how to find an advocate in a state that was 600 miles away. Thankfully, we were referred to Yarborough Applegate, where David Lail came to our rescue. He is a true gentleman, an extraordinary attorney, and the person you want on your side. We will never forget what he and Yarborough Applegate did to help our family. Stacy N.
Yarborough Applegate is my "go-to" firm when I associate co-counsel in complex and catastrophic cases. They are honest, aggressive and possess the knowledge and resources to outwork their adversaries and deliver superior results. They work every case as if it is going to trial and, as a result, most of them settle favorably for our clients. I value them as trusted co-counsel and friends. Owner, Clark Law Firm, Sumter, SC John Clark
Perry Buckner was my attorney, and he was the right person for the job. He’s smart, talented, and competitive. I would take him over any other attorney—five stars. Leland R.
Douglas fought hard for me every step of the way. He turned down several low-ball offers and pushed my case right up to a trial. Douglas and his team turned a horrible experience and injury that I suffered into a positive result. I can’t say enough good things. Helene S.
Our Commitment to Social Good

Beyond helping our clients recover well-deserved compensation for their injuries, our cases have prompted sweeping cross-industry safety improvements—the kinds of reforms that can prevent countless instances of future harm.

Corporate Medical Scan Policy

Settlement for a missed pediatric brain tumor includes corporate changes for Medquest facilities nationwide to reduce MRI and CT scan margin of error.

Trucking Cell Phone Ban

Trucking case settlement prompts cell phone policy change for a large manufacturer and sets the stage for other large trucking companies to follow suit.

Nursing Home Safety Measures

This case involved the tragic (and preventable) choking death of our client’s elderly mother with dementia at a nursing home. In addition to a significant monetary settlement, with the help of experts we developed a high-quality, professional training video that the large national nursing home corporation was required to use in all future training to prevent similar choking deaths from happening again.

National Restaurant Chain Customer Protection

After a woman ingested a metal wire embedded in her dish at Outback Steakhouse, a jury verdict leads to a safety change across the entire Bloomin’ Brands family of restaurants, protecting customers worldwide.

Safe Alcohol Service Standards

We have litigated numerous dram shop cases against bars and restaurants for violating the standards of safe alcohol service. On several occasions, our settlements in those cases have gone beyond financial recovery for our clients. For example, we have required bars to implement additional training programs and policies to prevent reoccurance, and required servers of alcohol to undergo “Responsible Alcohol Service” training by nationally recognized, third-party providers.

Our Difference
Grit

Dig deep, leave no stone unturned, and be ready for trial, every time. That’s our commitment to our clients—and why when we do agree to settle, it’s for top dollar.

Courage

We’re advocates for the underdog, not afraid to stand up to corporations in our pursuit to level the playing field for individuals who have suffered a loss.

Drive

Keep learning. Ask questions. Think creatively. Try things differently. In our pursuit of justice, we never stop exploring cutting-edge opportunities to share a victim’s story.

Empathy

The capabilities and resources of a large firm, the personal, caring touch of a small one. We support and stand by victims at the time they need an ally the most.

Our Industry Leadership

We’re driven to set a higher standard. Together, our team has published two game-changing legal playbooks and numerous articles in industry publications.

Our Recognition

It’s humbling to be acknowledged for our tireless and tenacious efforts to secure justice for our clients.
