Amy H. Johnson is a senior litigation paralegal at Yarborough Applegate LLC. She has worked in the legal field for almost 20 years and she specializes in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and complex civil litigation. She is an active member of Charleston Association of Legal Assistants, where she has served as President, NALA Liaison, Education Chair, and Parliamentarian. She has been a member of NALA since 2003. Amy is a regular presenter on NALA Campus Live! since 2006. She was appointed to serve on NALA’s Continuing Education Council for the 2015-2018 term. She has mentored many paralegals of all levels, and she formerly served on the Trident Technical College Advisory Board for its Paralegal Studies Program. She is a frequent presenter at continuing education events nationwide.
This week Amy presented a NALA-sponsored webinar to a national audience on the topic of Medicare Liens and Set Asides. Amy also recently presented at National Business Institute’s seminar entitled Unleashing the Power of Microsoft Office and Adobe for Lawyers. Her presentations focus on maximizing efficiency while generating high-quality results, and adding value to every case.
Amy is the two-time recipient of the NALA Affiliates’ Award (2007 and 2014), which is a prestigious honor bestowed annually upon paralegals by their national certifying organization, the National Association of Legal Assistants, for outstanding contributions and dedication to the advancement of the paralegal profession. Award recipients must be nominated by their peers and confirmed by the NALA Board of Directors.
For her pioneering work in educating other paralegals on the review and organization of medical records and bills, Amy was honored in 2008 with NALA’s Making a Difference Award. This award recognizes inspiring and selfless contributions to the paralegal profession. Award recipients are selected directly by the NALA Board of Directors.
