As Memorial Day approaches, South Carolinians are rightfully excited to start enjoying some of this wonderful weather. However, if you’re planning on heading out of the house for a trip to the beach, park or pool, it’s important to stay safe—not only by practicing social distancing, but by remembering to buckle up.
As summer approaches and we see more motorists on our roads, one of the safest choices both drivers and passengers can make is to wear their seatbelt. The South Carolina Public Department of Safety has found that 55% of car-related fatalities in 2020 thus far were not utilizing their seatbelt—so let’s work together to bring that statistic down. In order to do our part, we’re participating in the 2020 Memorial Day Buckle Up South Carolina Campaign.
Starting today—Monday, May 18—through Sunday, May 31, join us in spreading the word about seatbelt safety. And when you get into your car to enjoy Memorial Day festivities, please remember to buckle up.
