According to a recent study aimed at determining the most dangerous states in the U.S. for drunk driving, South Carolina falls at number 5 on the list.
The study looked at a number of ranking determinants including state laws and statutes, DUI and accident reports, and cost per fatality by state.
“We have had several cases against bars and restaurants that have over-served customers who then drive drunk and either catastrophically injure or kill innocent victims on our roads. And while drunk driving is a very serious problem nationwide, it is particularly evident here in South Carolina. Right now, we are litigating three separate cases involving drunk drivers and establishments that serve alcohol” said David Lail, a personal injury lawyer at Yarborough Applegate.
