Office Manager Laura Butler Peirano Published In Facts & Findings Magazine

Posted: December 4, 2017

In the November/December 2017 issue of The National Association of Legal Assistant’s Facts & Findings (F&F) magazine, our own Office Manager Laura Peirano, shares tips on gathering expenses after a case settles. We think it’s required reading for any business manager, legal secretary, or administrative assistant juggling an array of invoices, filing fees, and administrative costs.

Laura writes:

Reach out to the experts for a final invoice. Ask them to stop work on the case, and ask if they will need to ship their file back for your office to destroy.

Ensure that the mediator’s invoice has been received and processed. If the mediator’s fee is being split among parties, be sure that all parties have paid if you may ultimately be held responsible.

Ask if any filing fees will be needed for court documents, including in probate court.
