Posted: January 13, 2016

Yarborough Applegate attorney, David Lail, has been elected Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the South Carolina Association for Justice, formerly known as the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association. The South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ) was founded over 50 years ago by a small group of South Carolina trial lawyers. Since then, the SCAJ’s mission has been to serve its members and those they are sworn to protect – individuals harmed by the actions of others. According to Lail, “I am honored to be a part of SCAJ leadership and I am proud to represent and serve the young lawyers of this great organization.”

Lail, recently selected to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40, has helped recover more than $34.4 million for his clients since he began practicing law in 2011. A 2014 jury verdict in, Hugo Hernandez Palomino v. PEPCO, is believed to be the largest jury verdict for an undocumented worker in United States history and was included in Top 100 Verdicts of 2014 by the National Law Journal. For more information on this verdict, see The Washington Post article.

Lail has recovered significant compensation for clients in a variety of cases including: bad faith insurance practices, product defects, child abuse at school, motor vehicle collisions caused by drunk drivers, nursing home negligence and abuse, dog bites, and negligence by retail stores, hotels, homeowners, and school districts for premises injuries, among others.
