Yarborough Applegate Welcomes Attorney Brandt Horton to the Team

Posted: April 30, 2025

Yarborough Applegate is pleased to announce the addition of attorney Brandt Horton to our team. Most recently a partner at a prominent local defense firm, Horton’s two-decade legal career also includes a formative stint at the South Carolina Supreme Court.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Brandt to Yarborough Applegate,” says William Applegate, co-founding partner. “He has long been a deeply respected and formidable opponent, and now we’re incredibly proud to call him a colleague. Our team is made up of deeply talented and driven trial lawyers—and Brandt’s arrival only strengthens that bench. His insight and experience will be a tremendous asset as we continue to fight for justice on behalf of our clients.”

Horton has built his career handling complex, high-stakes cases in areas such as trucking, dram shop, and more. His years on the defense side provide him with a unique perspective on case strategy and evaluation—an advantage he now brings to the plaintiffs he serves.

“I’ve spent my career defending catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases and have faced Yarborough Applegate in the courtroom more than once,” says Horton. “Having felt the pull of the plaintiff’s side for some time, I couldn’t be more fortunate to join South Carolina’s preeminent firm. I’m a litigator at heart and pride myself on always thinking several steps ahead. I’m eager to apply that same drive and passion to the representation of real people at a time when they need an advocate the most.”

After growing up in Mount Pleasant, Horton attended the University of South Carolina for undergraduate studies and earned his Juris Doctor from USC’s Joseph F. Rice School of Law.
