As Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center’s 23rd annual Hope Grows Here Dinner Auction approaches next week, Yarborough Applegate is excited to continue our support of the Charleston-area nonprofit. With a mission to prevent abuse, protect children, and heal families, Dee Norton advocates for youth across the Lowcountry who are victims of abuse.
Hope Grows Here is one of Dee Norton’s most significant annual fundraisers. This year, Yarborough Applegate is participating as a Hope Sponsor. Jessica Yarborough, wife of founding partner David Yarborough, once again helped co-chair the now sold-out event, which will be held on May 4 at the Cigar Factory in downtown Charleston.
Dee Norton provides forensic interviews, mental health assessments, and medical and therapy services to children and families in instances where there is concern about abuse. All funds raised at the dinner auction directly benefit the nonprofit, ensuring it can offer these critical services to all in need—and ultimately build brighter, happier futures for children across the Lowcountry.
Last year’s event raised more than $1.2 million for Dee Norton, a total that covered the cost of comprehensive services for more than 660 children, helping each of them through the process of healing and help after abuse. While this year’s dinner auction is sold out, there are many other ways you can support the work of this vital organization, including donating to Dee Norton and volunteering your time at the center.
NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
Each year, Hope Grows Here immediately follows National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The campaign recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and offers prevention services and resources to help to protect children and strengthen families.
