As reported by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, David Yarborough recently settled a case against an intoxicated driver. In this case, the two Charleston-based lawyers represented a 23-year-old Savannah College of Art and Design student who was victim of a car accident in Moncks Corner at the hand of an impaired driver. The defendant had a history of drug abuse, and at the time of the crash, had amphetamines in his system. The collision caused the plaintiff traumatic brain injury, two broken arms, and a broken leg, some of which is permanent.
Yarborough settled the case for $1.35 million dollars, which exhausted all available policy limits. The settlement will provide long term care and proper medical treatment for the plaintiff.
