For the 5th year in a row, Yarborough Applegate has at least 3 cases on South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s annual list of the “Top 25 Largest Verdicts and Settlements.”
Each year, South Carolina Lawyers Weekly highlights plaintiff attorneys with the largest verdicts and settlements in a South Carolina Court or as a result of work done by South Carolina lawyers reported to Lawyers Weekly. In 2015, Yarborough Applegate was proud to have 3 settlements make the Top 25 list, totaling $4.95 million in recovery for their clients. Results making the 2015 list include:
#9: Yarborough Applegate secured the 9th largest settlement on the Top 25 list in a case that involved the botched delivery of a baby who suffered brain damage and later died. The case was settled for $2.2 million which exhausted all available insurance coverage.
#12: Coming in 12th on the Top 25 list was a $1.75 million settlement in a case where a security guard for a gated community shot a man inside a home during a family dispute.
#23: Finally, the 23rd largest settlement achieved by the firm was $1 million for a pedestrian hit by a car while vacationing on Seabrook Island.
