“Team YA – Lawyers for Victims” Preparing for Walk Like MADD Event in Columbia

Posted: March 16, 2017

On Saturday, April 22nd, the South Carolina Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will hold its annual event, Walk Like MADD, in Columbia, South Carolina. This spring, thousands of people in over 90 cities across the nation will walk in a variety of events. Walk Like MADD is the largest community-based event held by MADD annually. The event mobilizes communities to take action against drunk driving by offering an opportunity to gather, walk in remembrance of loved ones lost to drunk driving, and bring awareness to the public safety issue drunk driving represents.

Yarborough Applegate lawyer, David Lail, has formed a team to walk in honor of our clients who have been victims of drunk driving. According to Lail,

“In the last few years alone, we’ve recovered over $14.5 million dollars for victims of drunk driving in dram shop cases against bars and restaurants that failed to safely serve alcohol and turned their patrons into drunk drivers.”

We are proud to be MADD-South Carolina’s Victim Services Partner and continue our quest to help families who have been impacted by these tragedies.

If you would like to support the Yarborough Applegate Walk Like MADD team through a donation or by serving as a virtual walker you may visit our “Team YA – Lawyers for Victims” team page here. Donations help to support high-visibility law enforcement, sober start vehicle initiatives, and support the development of technology aimed at detecting drunk drivers.
