Liam Duffy Elected Chair of the SCAJ Young Lawyers Section

Posted: August 10, 2020

Please join us in congratulating Yarborough Applegate attorney Liam Duffy, who has been elected Chair of the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ) Young Lawyers Section.

Founded in 1957, SCAJ (formerly the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association) is comprised of approximately 1,500 members dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals who are harmed by the actions of others. The organization’s motto, “Advocates for Fairness Under the Law,” illustrates the simple mission of trial lawyers serving those who they have sworn to protect.

Justice and fairness under the law aren’t just buzzwords — they’re fundamental strands in the fabric of our society,” Liam says. “SCAJ and its members serve the important mission of fighting to uphold and protect these ideals, and I couldn’t be prouder to step into this new role and work alongside so many fantastic South Carolina trial lawyers.”

Liam’s practice focuses exclusively on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, including those involving electrocutions, product liability, workplace injuries, dram shop, premises liability, and more. Liam’s creativeness, technological savvy, and forward-thinking approach to trial work have helped his clients achieve numerous multi-million-dollar results, including a $21 million dollar jury verdict in 2019. In addition to his membership in the South Carolina Association for Justice, Liam has also been selected as a Top 40 Under 40 honoree by The National Trial Lawyers, as well as being recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for 2020.
