Attorney Perry Buckner a Featured Speaker at SC Bar Nursing Home Litigation Seminar

Posted: February 23, 2022

Yarborough Applegate attorney Perry Buckner was a featured speaker at the South Carolina Bar’s Nursing Home Litigation in South Carolina seminar last week in Columbia. The seminar explored timely topics and emerging issues facing nursing home litigators in the state, including COVID-19 defenses, Medicare regulations, and ownership transitions in nursing home companies.

Buckner joined other experienced nursing home litigators who were selected to present before their peers.  Members of both the plaintiff’s bar and defense bar were asked to speak at the event. His talk, titled “A View from Both Sides,” was designed to share his unique experience as both a former defense lawyer and now a plaintiff’s lawyer in the nursing home litigation arena. Other seminar topics included alternative dispute resolution, discovery strategies, and arbitration in the nursing home context.

About Attorney Perry Buckner

Buckner has been an invaluable member of Yarborough Applegate since joining in 2019. Having spent nearly a decade defending professional liability cases immediately prior, he has a keen sense for representing clients who have been injured due to nursing home abuse and neglect.  In nursing home litigation alone, he has handled choking cases, bedsore cases, fall cases, and medication error cases for victims who have died or been injured in South Carolina nursing homes.
